Such a charming vintage watch this is, dating back to the mid 20th century c1950! The working Dupont watch is predominantly made of sterling silver with a stainless steel back case and ladder connection. The entire front surface of the watch case and band is encrusted with dazzling marcasite gems. The navette-shaped dial is lovely, it features a row of graduated marcasites along the bezel frame. The fanciful hinged band is reminiscent of Art Deco design with a row of fan-shaped profiles resting along the centre of single marcasite rows. The hinged clip-over clasp is also decorated with marcasite gems.
The dial is a light ivory colour and there is yellow-tone hands along with alternate numerals and batons. Commensurate with age, there is some light dial marks seen upon close-up view. Painted to the dial is 'DUPONT' '17 JEWELS' 'SWISS' 'INCABLOC'.
The watch is made by prominent French brand 'Dupont' and has a working manual-wind Swiss, incabloc and seventeen jeweled movement.
The case measures 20mm long x 15.00mm wide and the marcasite band measures 8.00mm and tapers down to 5.00mm wide near clasp. Length of watch measures around 17cm, give and take a little bit with the length adjuster clasp, there is a safety chain connected for extra security. Stamped 'STERLING SILVER' to the back of clasp.
