A charming vintage ladies Rolex watch from the Art Deco era, c1930! The working Rolex watch is made of 9ct yellow gold and has a recent black leather band attached. The elegant oval shaped watch features a lovely pattern along the bezel and the sides of the hinged case - the geometric chevron hand engraved pattern exemplifies the wonderful Art Deco era in which the watch was made! An original silver tone dial features stunning chased detail to the upper and lower section - the design reminiscent of a rose flower! There are easy to read black painted 1-12 numerals and a rectangular shaped minute border. The dial is signed ROLEX and ''SWISS MADE" at the bottom. Completing the dial beautifully is the original ornate blued steel stylized hands, adding further elegance and aesthetics!
Inside the case reveals an original mechanical 15 jewel Rolex movement, signed 'ROLEX' 'PRIMA', '15 Rubies, 'Swiss made' and 'Timed 6 positions'. A simple wind of the crown to kick-start the cogs is needed every time it's worn. The watch currently works perfectly within 24 hours, though there is no guarantee as the watch has not had a recent service. Once the movement is removed from the hinged case, the case-back reveals numerous stamps (typical of varied vintage Rolex watches); stamps include 'ROLEX' '20 WORLD'S RECORDS' GENEVA-SUISSE, R.W.C. LTD' (Rolex Watch Company) as well as the UK gold guarantee hallmark '9 375'. There is also a Glasgow opposed "F"s mark (where the case was assayed and hallmarked), alongside a date letter mark "f" which denotes year 1928. The serial number of the Rolex watch is 53359, as indicated by the stamp to the lower back of the case.
A recent black calf leather band accompanies the Rolex watch and would fit most sized wrists.
