Victorian 20ct Gold Pietra Dura Cased Earrings & Brooch/Pendant Set

A superb Pietra Dura cased set from the Victorian era, c1880! Made of 20k gold, the earrings and brooch/pendant set features the natural gemstones turquoise, agate and jasper all placed together precisely like a jigsaw to form a beautiful floral scene within a round black marble plaque. The epitome of Pietra Dura craftsmanship! The ombre-esque hue's of the blue, olive green and whitish grey meld together beautifully to form a naturalistic flower and leaf scene. Adorning each double bezel frame are twisted gold ropes, adding further flair and intricacy to the design.

A pin and 'C' clasp are attached to the back of the brooch, as well as a secure gold wire which can be utilized as a loop for chain to slide through, if you wish to wear as a pendant. Hinged and looped wires are attached to the back of the earrings which fasten through a small tube at the top of the earring, allowing the earrings to dangle nicely from the lobe. The Pietra Dura set rest nicely in what appears to be the original case, which will accompany the set. Charming!
